INFLATION SUCKS! Rest assured, Drop Zone Dance is not increasing prices at this time, however, please note that we are seeing drop-in classes in Seattle and major cities increase to as much as $25-$40. And we get it. Studios and instructors need to make ends meet too. We’ve decided keep our current prices as long as we can, but we need your help to stay equitable and financially healthy!

Our tiered system allows us to offer various prices for people with different financial needs. While we all want to best deals to save money, it’s important that you keep in mind the sustainability of Drop Zone Dance and what tier you can honestly afford. Paying higher tiers allows us to supplement costs for lower tiers. This is how we remain accessible.

We believe making our pricing model clearer will help you determine which payment tier is best for you and, in turn, help us stay equitable. Please see our guidelines below and reach out if you have any questions!

Payment Tier Guidlines

In order to keep class prices accessible, we offer tiered pricing. Please choose the tier that you feel is financially feasible for you based on our guidelines. Apply the respective Payment Codes at checkout. Promo Codes are listed below and in the class description box during booking.

  • This tier is reserved for people on a highly limited budget . The Payment Code at checkout is Tier-1

    I am unable to pay the standard rate at other dance studios

    I have debt that sometimes prohibits me from meeting my basic needs

    I am unemployed or underemployed and my savings are reserved for my basic needs

    I am temporarily on a strict budget due to a major life transition

    I have very little expendable income

    I am a student or working artist with no outside support

  • This tier is the standard rate of dance classes in Seattle and similar cities. The Payment Code at checkout is Tier-2

    I regularly pay the standard rate at other dance studios

    I am comfortably able to meet my basic needs

    I may have some debt but it does not prohibit me from meeting my basic needs

    I am employed or do not need work to meet my basic needs

    I am unemployed but am receiving unemployment or have substantial savings

    I have expendable income to live comfortably in addition to supporting my basic needs

    I have regular access to healthcare

    I am able to buy some new items and thrift others

    I can afford to take time off from work without financial extreme financial repercussion

  • This tier helps supplement needs-based and scholarship pricing for historically oppressed groups and individuals in financial hardship . The Payment Code at checkout is Tier-3

    I find it important to support historically oppressed groups so that they may gain equitable access to dance

    I am employed or do not need work to meet my basic needs

    I have expendable income

    I have a job that allows me financial freedom

    I own my own home or pay higher end rent

    I regularly contribute to a savings account, retirement fund or stocks

    I am part of a privileged class of society that has allowed me to gain generational wealth

    I can afford to take an annual vacation with no without financial burden

    I own or lease a car

  • This tier is reserved for black, brown, indigenous and trans people in financial need . The payment code at checkout is DZSCHOLARSHIP

    I am part of a historically oppressed group

    I cannot afford dance or any other extra curricular activity without a scholarship

    I have little or no expendable income

    I have little or no access to savings

    I rent lower-end properties or have unstable income

    I qualify for government assistance including food stamps and health care

    I am unemployed with little to no savings

    I rarely buy new items because I am unable to afford them

    I cannot afford a vacation or have the ability to take time off without financial burden

    I am supporting more people than just myself

  • In order to keep class prices accessible, we offer tiered pricing. You will choose the tier that is financially feasible for you.

    Single Classes: When purchasing single classes, you will be able to apply codes that will reduce the cost to the respective tier. Codes are provided in the “Single Classes” section below and in the class description during registration.

    Class Packages: Packages need to be purchased BEFORE booking a class and are provided in the “Class Packages” section below. After purchasing a multi-class package, you will receive an 8-digit code that can be applied when signing up for individual classes. You must sign up for classes and use the package code in the “Redeem Coupon or Gift Certificate” box. You have 45 days from purchase to use the package code.

    Scholarships: Full Scholarships are primarily available for Black, Indigenous, Brown and Trans people in financial need. The Scholarship codes are provided in the “Scholarship” section below.

    Walk-ins: You may still attend class even if you did not pre-register. Returning students can just show up, give your name and send payment through Venmo, PayPal (@dropzonedance) or CashApp (@thedropzonee). Exact amount Cash is also accepted. We do not accept Zelle. New students will be put in our system on the spot.

  • Donate to our Scholarship Foundation (soon to be a non-profit section of Drop Zone fiscally sponsored by Shunpike!). To donate a $20 Scholarship or other amount, there is an option at checkout to leave a Tip.

  • We do not offer refunds, transfers or exchanges unless your class has been cancelled. This is standard policy across most dance studios. However, we will allow one class transfer or extension outside of this policy because we understand life happens! If you purchased a package, we can extend your package a bit. Please email us at dropzonedance@gmail.com with the name and email you used to register for class.

 Single Classes

Class Packages

After purchasing a multi-class package, you will receive an 8-digit code that can be applied when signing up for individual classes. You must sign up for classes and use the package code in the “Redeem Coupon or Gift Certificate” box. You have 45 days from purchase to use the package code. Packages are non-refundable.

Scholarships

We are happy to offer scholarships to Black, Indigenous, Brown and Trans people in financial need. While we are happy to give full scholarships, we have found that you stay committed to classes when you buy-in. Paying the lowest tier may help you stay accountable, but please do what is best for your situation.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

We do not offer refunds, transfers or exchanges unless your class has been cancelled. This is standard policy across most dance studios. However, we will allow one class transfer or extension outside of this policy because we understand life happens! If you purchased a package, we can extend your package a bit.
