  • Feb 2nd-March 23rd, 5:30-7:30pm DROP SQUAD REHEARSAL: BEG + BEG/INT TRAINING

    WINTER APPLICATIONS OPEN

    Feb 2nd-March 23rd, 8 weeks

    DROP SQUAD CREW - is Drop Zone's performance and training crew for beginner and beginner/intermediate adult dancers (21+). No auditions required and flexible commitment. Work on gaining confidence in your dancing though mixed-styles choreography, performance techniques and individual feedback. Deepen your understanding of grooves, musicality, and rhythm. Learn from guest instructors. Make friends along the way. Training is better with a supportive community! Fall 2024 season will be led by Kimy Calva!

    To allow you flexibility in your adult life, DROP SQUAD runs in 8 week sessions. You can join this training for as many sessions in the year as your schedule allows.

    Drop Squad prioritizes enrollment for BIPOC dancers in order to foster a diverse community in which they feel comfortable. All are welcome although we must ensure the group is at least 60% BIPOC.

  • 3:30-4:30PM Dimensions of Dance (Series) with Avery Gardner

    Dimensions of Dance provides a more nuanced perspective and approach to creative physical movement. This class will use movements such as body rolls, waves, hip-hop grooves etc. to dive into. The student will learn ways to approach these aforementioned movements (and more) with various intentions and stylistic approaches that can be applicable to an array of dance styles.

    This class will be set up as monthly series, taking a whole series is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.

  • 4:30-5:30PM Sensual Foundation 1/2 (Series) with Tamber Dancer

    What to expect: Coming to the space curious and excited to explore embodied sensuality through movement. The goal is to feel sexy and empowered in your own body, and to provide skills to keep and hold onto beyond the dance studio to access self-empowerment no matter where you are. We work on exercises to find ways to connect with your body and tap into your natural fluidity and sensuality and end class with a fun combo to live your best, empowered, sexy self!

    This class will be set up as monthly series, taking a whole series is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome

Mondays

  • 6:00-7:00PM Choreography 2/3 with Grace Masaoka

    This will be an upper-intermediate level choreography class, and is a great fit for folks who want to practice applying grooves while balancing the challenge of choreo retention. My personal style and choreography draws from my training in Hip Hop, Waacking and Locking with an emphasis on grooves, textures and musicality. My music tastes range from R&B, Hip Hop, Pop and more. My classes prioritize connecting to the music, having fun, working through challenges and embracing the learning process.

Tuesdays

  • Feb 4th-March 26th, 7:40pm-9:40pm DRIP REHEARSAL: INT + INT/ADV TRAINING

    DRIP - is Drop Zone's audition-based performance and training company for intermediate and intermediate/advanced adult dancers (21+). While Hip Hop and Choreography will be the primary focuses of this company, we will also train in performance, street styles and more. It’s time to elevate your dancing in a supportive community!

    To allow you flexibility in your adult life, DRIP runs in 8 week sessions. You can join the company for as many sessions in the year as your schedule allows, as each session will have a new instructor with a new goal. Winter 2025 session will be run by Keke Duncan!

Wednesdays

  • 6-7pm Jazz Funk Choreography 1/2 with Kimy Calva

    This class is a great experience no matter what level you are! Aimed towards beginners, it will feel more like a push for people on the “level 1” end (retention wise), but she always challenges “level 2” and beyond to catch the details, really get their character on, and to think about their intention. Kimy's style of choreo is a huge mix- commercial dance, hip hop, jazz funk, etc. As far as music goes, she loves femme artists, pop music, dance music, new hit songs! Check insta [@kimycalva] before class to find a song reveal for the day! This class is great for anyone. Whether you’re starting out, just want to have fun in a dance class, or really want to grow! See you soon.

    Kimy is teaching this class and is leading Drop Squad, our Beg + Beg/Int training team this Fall Sept 11th-Nov 10th! This class is a requirement.

  • 7:10-8:10pm Hip Hop Choreography 2/3 with Keke

    This class is an intermediate/advanced, structured, music and movement class for adults looking to expand their artistry! In this class we will explore limits, physically and mentally, to dive into hip hop and its layers. This class is great for someone with some hip hop experience, wanting a fun challenge!

    Keke is teaching this class and is leading DRIP, our Int + Int/Adv training company this Winter Feb 4th-March 26th! This class is a requirement.
